Computers and Media Dealers Association(CMDA), Pune started Diwali Celebrations with a Big Bang by organizing Diwali Mela  for its members and their families on 11th Oct.2009 at Sanskruti, ‘The Cultural Garden Restaurant’. CMDA Diwali Mela was attended by more than 500 members including their family members which was a record gathering for the much awaited family event of the year. Members were very happy with the venue as it was the first time Diwali Mela was organized outside city limits.

Most of the members reached venue before time which showed their interest and enthusiasm  regarding Diwali Mela  and 50 early bird gift hampers were distributed within minutes of  starting of the registration counter. Members enjoyed various activities like Mehandi, pottery, magic shows, tattoo’s, hair braiding, jugglery  and very tasty snacks at the beginning of the mela.

Sanjeev Pathare ,Project Leader, welcomed all the members for Diwali Mela and informed members about flow of events. Cultural Programs were started in a traditional way by Deep Prajawalan at the hands of  CMDA President Mr.Naresh Lalwani and all Managing Committee Members. Speaking on the Occasion Mr. Lalwani suggested to have more bonding among family members and that can be achieved through arranging such family events. He was very happy to see members especially children enjoying this occasion very much.

CMDA Young Artist Program is a talent search program for the members children with a purpose to bring out hidden talent , encourage them and give them stage confidence. Children from age group 4 to 12 years performed dances elegantly and energetically . Members really enjoyed the program and felt that in years to come Indian Idol will be from CMDA family itself. CMDA Gaurav Awards are given to rising stars who have done excellent work in fields of Academics , Sports , Arts and music. CMDA President felicitated Dhaval Adhav, Yash Gugale and Ronak Manuja with CMDA Gaurav awards for their extraordinary talent .  

‘Dandiya’ , the most demanded program for the evening, was a huge success followed by colorful firework show which gave all the members feeling of diwali celebrations. Members relished full spread dinner enjoying melodious Ghazals at the background. Prizes were given to members for best dress and best dance. Sanjeev Pathare thanked all the members for their presence along with family members and making this diwali mela the memorable one. He also thanked Mr.Sunil Gugale of United Peripherals for sponsoring innovative and different diwali gifts for the members. Members thanked all committee members for such a memorable family event and requested to have one more family get-together in the days to come.
