Computers & Media Dealers Association (CMDA), Pune is established in 1993 and today it is an association of more than 350 dynamic IT entrepreneurs of Pune, working together for the betterment of IT trade-Community and consumers. CMDA is ISO9001/2000 certified oraganization.

Computer dealers, distributors, system Integrators, service providers are our esteemed members. These members control almost 90% of computer hardware and consumables business in Pune.

The main objective of association is to provide a platform for businessmen to address their common problems, issues, government representations, resolve disputes and to share technical and commercial information. Many initiatives has been taken by CMDA to increase awareness in the area of Information Technology by conducting IT Trade EXPO in Pune and by conducting various technical seminars on recent developments and technologies. Members and society at large is benefiting through variety of events, projects and activities conducted by CMDA, Pune.

CMDA functions in a very professional and structured manner and its working is governed by by-laws. CMDA is the first IT trade association in India to be ISO 9001:2000 certified. CMDA has achieved this unique recognition in November 2007. CMDA is recognized as one of the Top IT trade association in India. We are actively involved in all government representations along with other associations. CMDA has gained importance and confidence of its members and also of many other business houses in Information Technology which includes all Vendors, National Distributors, Regional Distributors, Sub Distributors, Various System Integrators, through its active interest in working with very positive spirit and supporting and promoting ethical business and trade practices.

CMDA is working with a clear vision to achieve the common goal of building value for their members to shape their professional and personal life and take share of social responsibility towards society through more disciplined acts and become India’s most valuable IT trade association.

CMDA for members

  • Government representations: CMDA has made lot of government representation thru various committee’s and was instrumental in dropping VAT from 12.5% to 4% on software paper licenses. CMDA’s proper and logical representation to PMC has helped to reduce octroi on computer parts which in turn helped whole community. 
  • Technical training: CMDA conducts many technical training programs for members and their engineers
  • Management seminars: Management seminars for members where industry experts are invited to highlight new management techniques.
  • Library: CMDA has it’s own library for members which has unique collection of books on various topics covering technology, management and biographies
  • SI forum: Unique concept of SI (System integrators) forum which addresses SI issues with principle companies, vendors, service related issues.
  • HR Policies: CMDA has drafted standard HR policies for all its members and circulated these policies to help members in addressing HR related issues.
  • Standard practices: CMDA has formulated standard procedures and practices for dealing with all national distributors and major vendors. This has reduced lot of inconvenience and disputes amongst the community.
  • Mediations: CMDA has addressed many mediations amongst members, distributors and principle companies. This has helped lot of members in resolving many issues.
  • Health Checkup camps: CMDA not only helps members in business but also takes care of their health. Every year CMDA conducts free health checkup camps for members which covers major health tests and permanently tied up with hospitals for discount for members for such tests.
  • ID Cards: CMDA has provided smart ID cards to all members which can be used as discount cards at many hotels, hospitals, medical shops, malls and many business outlets.
  • Sports: Every year CMDA conducts sports events (Cricket, Badminton, Table tennis, Trekking) for members.
  • Entertainment: CMDA conducts yearly family entertainment programs for all members and their families during Diwali.

Charity
  • CMDA has donated PC’s, printers to many schools, institutes.
  • CMDA has donated Rs. 1.5 lakhs to Jagruti Blind girls school to build their computer lab for school.
  • CMDA has always donated generously to relief funds in case of national disasters.

Seminars for general public
  • CMDA conducts technical seminars for students and general public on latest technology in every IT expo. Till date CMDA has conducted more than 100 seminars where industry experts are invited to address the audience.
